Calling all monsters! Universal trots most of them out for this sequel to "Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man." And, the results were slightly better than the 1943 effort. Boris Karloff plays a mad scientist bent on revenge.

Grande surprise de voir Boris Karloff revenir dans la serie et cette fois ci dans le role du createur et non plus de la creature, neanmoins la sauce ne prend plus, ni les melanges des monstres Universal, Dracula, Frankenstein et Wolf-man

its a good old monster mash courtusey of Universal studios. to prove its a good monster flick Borris Karloff and Lon Chaney Jr star in this five monster chash. The monster of frankestein , the mad sicentist, the huchback ( which in away is a mild triubiute to the hunchback of notedame with the female gypisy showing kindness), dracula and the wolfman are all blened into this really entertaing film. 6/10

And thus, the Frankenstein franchise comes to an end with a whimper. The monster would actually return in House of Dracula (which is even worse if I recall right), but this is certainly the last Universal monster movie with the word ?Frankenstein? in the title, and it?s pretty half-assed. It?s pretty obvious that they just wanted to bring together all their monsters (except The Mummy? and The Invisible man) together in one movie, or rather one poster, and that?s about as much thought as they put into this thing. I didn?t really pay very close attention to it, it just blows.

Probably the best of the monster face-offs made by Universal, with a fast-paced story and excellent performances. Boris Karloff is fantastic as the mad scientist Dr. Niemann. Lon Chaney Jr is back for another good turn as the tortured Wolfman. David Carradine ably takes on the role of Dracula, and Glenn Strange is a welcome addition as the Frankenstein Monster. One of my favorite old horror movies.
