Ricky Caldwell, the notorious 'Killer Santa Claus', awakens from a six-year coma after being kept alive on life-support by a slightly crazed doctor experimenting with ESP and other special abilities. Ricky targets a young, clairvoyant blind woman, named Laura, whom is traveling with her brother Chris, and his girlfriend Jerri to their grandmother's house for Christmas Eve, and Ricky decides to go after her, leaving a trail of dead bodies in his wake.

The pacing hurt this movie; it could have been a great movie, but instead it's just a good one. LOL at seeing a really young Laura Harring.

Slasher scale: it would have been 2.5 but I gave it an extra 0.5 for the dome head.

Very much at the level of quality you'd predict and anticipate for a direct-to-video slasher sequel from 1989.

Oddly, this direct-to-video sequel to the classic Christmas slasher film is directed by the famed Monte Hellman, who helmed Two-Lane Blacktop. But there is really not any trace of his artistry here; instead, we have pretty much what you would expect from the third entry in a slasher series: a mediocre horror film that has to introduce some new oddities to keep itself interesting. This film introduces us to a young psychic woman who also happens to be blind, and she is in the process of trying to contact the grown-up Ricky. Played by cult favorite Bill Moseley, Ricky didn't die, but had his brain reconstructed and is now in a coma. Of course, the psychic prodding wakes Ricky up just in time for Christmas. Stupid, derivative, and predictable, it is nonetheless a funny and reasonably entertaining late-80s slasher.

I was hoping this would have been a decent movie like the first one, but I was sadly mistaken. This movie just sucks ass. It makes absolutely no sense. It's barely connected to the first film and when I say "barely" I mean BARELY. Somehow or another the character of Ricky, who is being called the Santa Killer regardless of the fact that his brother did it before him, somehow now has some plastic dome over his exposed brain. Huh? What the fuck is going on? And then some blind girl has some kind of connection with him that brings him out of a 6 year coma. I don't get it. I still have 4 and 5 to watch and I already know 4 has nothing to do with it because it has giant bugs and a cult. I don't even know if it takes place at Christmas or not! I gave this movie 1 star instead of half a star because I do like the actress who plays Laura. The only redeeming thing about this movie!
