Strange and uneven horror - drama to say the least. Two cuts of this film exist on blu-ray: a, "Director's Cut," and, the "American Cut." Of the two, the, "Director's Cut," is in far worse shape in terms of the sound mix and quality of the images. However, it is the one to see if one wants to get the most out of the film. Vincent Price is a pleasure as always.

Nothing much to write home about, though Vincent Price carries out one of his ham acting bits in this tale of witchcraft set in 16th century rural England.

a non-scary vincent price movie about witch-hunting. it was not near as great as the conquering worm which is one of my favorites. not sure what he was doing with this film

Good old Vincent Price being evil. This time he goes out on a witch hunt, literally. He gets a bit out of hand in his work.

In the same tone of Witchfinder General,Vincent Price plays an evil Witch Hunter and really relishes the role, shame the rest of the film is'nt up to his standards, its quite a dull horror film which is quite misleading as there is no banshee in it but a Werewolf,Price is terrific in it but the plot and shaky direction lets him down.
