I missed this at Frightfest last year so I was really excited when Lovefilm kindly sent it me. Lol. A homage to splatter guru Herschell Gordon Lewis, this is a brilliantly satirical look at the uber bloodsoaked horror flicks of the early 70's. if you like old skool horror, and have a sense of humour, then you should watch this!

This homage to the films of Herschell Gordon Lewis (it even features him in cameos) starring David Hess (Last House on the Left) and former porn star Sasha Grey never quite manages to develop enough gore and craziness to fully capture the attention of a fan of such films. Instead, it plods along without ever developing anything original to remember.

I had hoped for high things from this homage to the works of Herschell Gordon Lewis. Sadly it didn?t quite live up to expectations. Don?t get me wrong I understood going in that this would be a low budget romp. I was just expecting a little more comedy. The plot revolves around a horror director whose starts killing people and using their body parts as props in his new flick. Amusing to start with but after a certain point, the movie seems to get on a treadmill and I found myself getting a little bored. David Hess gives us the psycho-killer experience as only he can. Porn scarlet Sasha Grey can clearly act. But sadly she would probably have had a more challenging role in Face Invaders 4 than she does in this. There are some nice cameos from Michael Berryman, Ray Sager and Herschell Gordon Lewis himself.

A movie made by people with too much money and not enough ideas. The movie is about exactly the same thing, so the audience is not estranged. Sure it has its moments here and there, but overall I was sadly disappointed.
