Shaolin (2011)

China is plunged into strife as feuding warlords try to expand their power by warring over neighboring lands. Fuelled by his success on the battlefield, young and arrogant Hao Jie sneers at Shaolin's masters when he beats one of them in a duel. But the pride comes before a fall. When his own family is wiped out by a rival warlord, Hao is forced to take refuge with the monks. As the civil unrest spreads and the people suffer, Hao and the Shaolin masters are forced to take a fiery stand against the evil warlords. They launch a daring plan or rescue and escape.

I love asian movies they make them so good. They always have stories where honor, loyalty and courage over come all odds. This is another one of those movies. All the actors are great and cant to see more like it.

Definitely one of the better Chinese movie in recent times, not only does it features many great martial arts sequences, the story was filled with touching scenes and the moral reminder that everyone are of equate status no matter how much material or power you might posses once death come beckoning. Andy Lau and Nicholas Tse acting was impressive throughout the film with Jackie Chan appearance adding some comical scenes.

It's a great movie coming from Andy lau's best performance. he's delivering a good character of Huo Jie. and overall, Benny Chan was succesfull in combining art,action,and melodramatic scenes on Shaolin. 2 thumbs up.

An epic movie about the history of the Shaolin temple. When General Hao joins the monks to seek refuge, he is transformed by their philosophy and kung fu training. The monks ultimately end up defending the temple during battle making for some excellent fight scenes. Jackie Chan's charcter of the temple cook adds some comic relief to an otherwise dramatic and emotional story.
