Brilliantly executed slice of nuclear paranoia, with some delicious in-jokes for luvvies, and almost docu-drama shots of a London now long gone.

Barry Jones stars in this 1950s thriller. Sci fi horror, an early Atomic themed film, which is excellent throughout

Taut, character-driven drama with an extremely realistic atmosphere that deals with the possibility of an atomic scientist walking off with a nuclear bomb. Filmed in a documentary style, some haunting scenes of a London deserted by the authorities to prevent nuclear disaster and tension.

Not a "typical" Boulting Brothers film in that it is more dramatic and less "funny", but still a rather bleak satire of the cold war and a government's response to a threat to its existence. I must admit that while the ending was somewhat expected, it still came as something of a shock! Great b/w photography, wonderful shots of an "evacuated" London, great performances all around, I agree with the 77% rating because the film is farm from perfect (and it's a bit slow-going by today's hectic standards). Worth seeing, probably won't watch it again any time soon, though.
