This should be compulsory viewing. What is the most upsetting part is that the movie is based on truth

The film is totally engrossing, from start to finish, which is a good thing for a two and a half hour long film. In a lesser more preachy film, I would have been looking at my non-existent watch every couple minutes, but the time flew.

A true story that shows the reality of racism, segregation in the rural south. This is not a movie for the weak, but one who wants to be honest about what the nation was like. You will be disturbed and enlightened from this film.

There was no happy ending to this movie, just like there was no happy ending to what really happened at Rosewood, Florida. It was a disaster and it was traumatic. The historic massacre was displayed very graphically and realistically. I really enjoyed the performances and director John Singleton really outdid himself with this part of African-American history that should never be forgotten.

This movie has some of my favorite scenes of all times in it.
