Rosewood Lane (2011)

Radio talk show therapist Sonny Blake moves back to her childhood home on seemingly idyllic Rosewood Lane after her alcoholic father dies. But upon arrival in the old neighborhood, Sonny discovers her neighbors are terrified of the local paperboy. She thinks this is ridiculous, until she encounters the boy himself. It turns out that he is a cunning and dangerous sociopath, one who may have gruesomely killed her father - and others.

This is a like a bad 80s made for tv movie. I just wanted to slap that stupid trout pout off Rose McGowan's wooden face. She makes this movie even worse. I knew it would suck in the first five minutes when it was obviously meant to be set in USA but then they use a fly over shot of sydney harbour, Australia and Rose is driving over Sydney Harbour bridge!! WTF?? Did they think no-one would notice such an obvious landmark. Just too lame for words.

I wanted to like this movie, but it felt pointless. It had a few creepy moments, but in the end it just didn't make any sense. I won't give away the ending, but instead of being creeped out, I felt confused. The whole movie was full of characters who didn't matter, with moments that felt thrown in just because Salva didn't know what else to do. The movie has no focus whatsoever. I can't imagine Salva being overtly proud of this mess. The only thing I liked about the movie was the atmospheric neighborhood. I love that hill and the wonderful camera angles used to capture it. It reminds me of the neighborhood in which I grew up. That's about it, though.

Un peu cliché et maladroit. Très ordinaire comme film.
