Very hard to have something never done before & with this film, I think they achieved it. Great movie & message!

Hard to understand why this movie didn't get a much higher review? A great story. One of Denze's best performances. Colin Farrell was great. 5 stars all day long. Put it on your list. .

I don?t get the negative reviews on here. This is an amazing Film and probably one of the best ones this year. Denzel is transformational and I forgot I was watching him. This is how movies should be made.

I actually enjoyed this film very much. I can relate to the personal struggles of this character. It's a reminder to stay vigilant and how easy it is to get caught up in the modern world and get complacent.

Denzel Washington carries the movie as he inhabits the quirky savant Roman J. Israel, Esq. who is competent in a way but also somewhere on the autism spectrum. The "mythical" federal brief is an enigma for any (actual) lawyer watching the film; but I also think it is good for any attorney to absorb what RJI is trying to change. The system is broken, and maybe this movie gives us a glimpse of the attitude it will take to fix it. Gilroy did a great job of directing such a powerful actor set in a dynamic plot. I recommend the film b/c it is interesting, strange, challenging, and different.
