On principle I dislike films where the actors are coached in accents to sound foreign, in this case Russian, even a child. This HBO film intended to show some of the faces of crime and corruption in contemporary Russia while highlighting the mortal dangers of a badly administered and maintained nuclear industry. The plot proved pretty lame, and the inconclusive resolution a little too pat for comfort.

Incredible blend of philosophy, desperation, and manipulation with a tasteful bit of slapstick to periodically lift the mood. It's brilliantly done and layered as an onion. I highly recommend this one!

A fantastic movie about the sacrifices one man would make for his family. You will laugh, cry and feel good throughout the movie. The last 20 minutes were very depressing though. Good job HBO!
