The people who slated this just live up to the stereotype of Americans having a very basic sense of humour. This just went over their heads. Its a great understated film. Nicholas Cage has mastered the art of dark comedies. This movie is absurdly funny and even more absurdly touching. The acting is top-notch from the whole cast. The movie is dark, witty, sad... and just wonderful. Those who do not have a "sicker" sense of humor may not find the movie as enjoyable.

I saw this one a long time ago and I'm just deciding to review it. It features some excellent dialogue and narration, as well as some really slick filmmaking. The story is intriguing and the characters are absolutely fascinating to watch as they develop. The pacing is a bit slow, but it's very wall handled. Also features hilarious comedy expertly mixed in with heart-breaking drama.
