Excellent movie that goes beyond the generic, cookie-cutter plots of many other movies out there. It tells a realistic (if not somewhat depressing) story that is both funny and thought provoking. The speech at the end of the movie where he's in the middle of the street is one of my all time favorite quotes from any movie.

This has to be one of my favorite Nicolas Cage movies - the mood and vision of the film are so unique. It's nice to see a movie that tries to go into real life themes and not sugar coat things. Absolute great film.

Nic Cage is one of those actors who is either right on or totally off. This movie is totally on. A lot of people won't enjoy this movie though as it can be quite boring to most. Another one of those movies that shows you a normal person, in a normal life, that is just not normal. With issues from his fat, camel-toed daughter, to his pretigious award winning father (dying of cancer), this mans life is just in ruins. But after taking up a archery hobby and starting to more or less give some more sunshine to his day, he starts to turn his life completely around.

Unlike the arrows Dave uses for his archery hobby, the movie never quite hits whatever target it's aiming for.

I might be alone in this- but I thought this was hilarious. Some really great comical moments and Nicolas Cage is just perfectly depressed.
