Psych-Out (1968)

Jenny, a deaf runaway who has just arrived in San Francisco's Haight-Ashbury district to find her long-lost brother, a mysterious bearded sculptor known around town as The Seeker. She falls in with a psychedelic band, Mumblin' Jim, whose members include Stoney, Ben, and Elwood. They hide her from the fuzz in their crash pad, a Victorian house crowded with love beads and necking couples. Mumblin' Jim's truth-seeking friend Dave considers the band's pursuit of success "playing games," but he agrees to help Jennie anyway.

Roger Corman is one of my fave directors. No one else pulls of a no budget flick as well. This is so 60's groovy with lots of acid use, Jack Nicholsen, Bruce Dern....can't say enough. Another all time fave.

Compare Roger Corman's The Trip to this, and you're comparing the results from a gifted impresario and showman to that of a real filmmaker. With great early racked focus work by the legendary Laszlo Kovacs.

un film pas très original sur le plan esthétique, mais avec une histoire drôle, de la super musique (seeds et strawberry alarm clock), et cette ambiance sixties géniale. bref à voir si vous aimez le genre, pas un indispensable, mais vraiment cool.
