There are so many efforts to keep you from going to this through bogus reviewers and where I live putting it in a theatre that people who would like this movie would think means it is no good and on its way out that it is not getting good play. The owner of almost all the theatres in Marin County, CA where I live is a super right wing guy in Texas who spends a lot of his profits on donations to such climate change luminaries as Rick Perry. It is quite good with excellent acting and chemistry between the actors as well as something important to say about the way "too big to fail" energy companies are dealing with us to keep their profits going. You will be surprised how good this film is. Go See It! There is a surprising piece to this movie at the end which is well worth waiting for.

The negative reviews for this beautiful and strangely disturbing film would be inexplicable if not for the stated bias of the critics who don't like it. It's not the film they don't like, it's the message. I only had a slight problem with the ending, but it doesn't spoil the whole film. Hal Holbrook's performance and the faces of the people in a town deceived are things you will remember long after other films are forgotten. This is among Van Sant's best works. It's sad that many seem so closed minded that they won't even entertain the thought that the cost of energy is taking a human toll. This is a movie that isn't being judged on it's merit and the vote here is skewed...possibly deliberately.

A good environmental film that takes it to whole new level of corporations. I already knew a lot about the process of natural gas but wanted to know more in the film.
