Terribly Happy (2008)

Robert Hansen, 34, a young police officer from Copenhagen, is transferred against his will to the small town of Skarrild in Southern Jutland as a substitute Marshall. The transfer is Robert's chance to start over. Whether he is allowed to return to his job in Copenhagen, all depends on how well he performs in this frontier town.

Veldig god hisorie her. Men karakterene blir litt for overtydelige og komiske, noe som gjoer at det som skjer mister sin effekt. Dette skulle kanskje enten vaert mer en thriller, eller mer en komedie. Men danskene er flinke!

Nothing is what it appears to be. Probably one of the most unforgettable movies I've seen, especially with the O. Henry-like twist in the end. Reminiscent of Coen brothers movies. Reminiscent also of Malayalam movie Kireedam (remade in Hindi as Gardish) because this is the story of a police officer transferred to a remote town as punishment. [Language: Danish]

Just interesting enough. An example of a slow film that never feels like its too slow. Frygtelig lykkelig gets a thumbs up by me.

This Oscar selection from Denmark is like a cross between a Coen Brothers film and "Hot Fuzz". A cop from Copenhagen who's transferred to a small town with peculiar characters. Like a good noir film, there's a femme fatale, secrets, murder, and dark twisted humor too.
