Prizzi's Honor (1985)

Charley Partanna is a hitman who works for the Prizzis, one of the richest crime families in the US. When he sees Irene Walker, it's love at first sight. This is the most bizarre comedy in many a month, a movie so dark, so cynical and so funny that perhaps only Jack Nicholson and Kathleen Turner could have kept straight faces during the love scenes. They do.

A totally bizarre and unique dark comedy. Strangest use of humor ever. Great script, great acting, great director.

Darkly lighthearted, the movie is somewhat slow and old fasioned. John Huston brings his old style of directing to a modern era, with mixed results. The characters are all very believable, but the soundtrack is irritating as in most classics, and the plot is rather thin.
