Good story, Very well done. Its more of an emotional human story then a Samaria story.

Beautiful period drama with a more commercial actor at its centre. It becomes quite melodramatic but I believe it's part of the Kimura branding for his pop and drama background. A more commercial film compared to the Twilight Samurai and the Hidden Blade, but still stylised with the same deft precision and care.

the movie has only one sword fight, and it consists of only three or four swings of the blade, but don't let that dissuade you. You won't be bored.

Not as good as The Twilight Samurai or The Hidden Blade, but this film is a worthy successor of the two.

The storytelling is all rather flat, as is the lighting. And the duel, when it finally comes, is something of an anticlimax.
