An interesting premise gets lost in a poorly connected story. The sad thing is that there are tons of great character actors in this film. It could have been so much more. However, one can only take so many meaningless deaths before you begin to wonder if you should bother watching the rest.

Decent horror revenge flick. Good performances by Viggo and Lane Smith. Kind of weird seeing Tony "Tiny" Lister in a role where he's not the bad guy, but actually decent...for a convict. Interesting visuals too. Worth a rent.

I don't understand how this film has gotten such a bad rap over the years, it's stood the test of time and is still shocking and emits a solid scare factor. The acting is above average for an 80's slasher film and the special effects look great. Still the story does present a few holes from time to time, who cares today it's a great cult classic that few have given the time of day.

Not bad, but it's never quite able to build up tythe suspense, and the final act feels a bit rushed.
