In early 19th century England, Mr and Mrs Bennet's five unmarried daughters vie for the affections of rich and eligible Mr Bingley and his status-conscious friend, Mr Darcy, who have moved into their neighbourhood. Great adaptation of Jane Austin novel. For me, Olivier will always be Darcy, Garson will be Elizabeth, and Edna Mae Oliver will be Lady Catherine De Bourgh. This story has been told on film more times than I can count at the moment, but I am fondest of this telling.

Love the story...The recent ones just do not compare!

Considering they changed half of the plot and managed to get hours of storyline into a little over an hour, it's pretty damn good!!

Kira Knightly is wonderful in this film. She graces the screen like I have never seen any actress do before. You must see this movie! It is wonderful.
