Ultimately, points may be scored on the balance sheet of workplace exploitation - usually we see it go the other way around, gender-wise - but these conference-room banalities have been better explored elsewhere, and the effort here feels like a rough draft.

I could listen to Parker Posey read Football Digest and be content. Most of her films rely totally on her to carry them, and she usually does a fantastic job doing so, but Price Check is a smart corporate comedy that would be solid with or without her. I'm really glad it's with her, though. I loved it!

Mabius is understated and sympathetic as a guy who makes some dickish choices, and Susan, played by anyone else, might be a completely unrelatable force of nature. Although Posey renders Susan's instability and dominance with gusto, the character's vulnerability and pain are manifest.
