Ray, a construction worker trapped in an unhappy marriage, pursues an affair with his neighbor, Carla. Carla's husband, Greg, is a mobster who keeps large sums of drug money in their home. With this in mind, Carla comes up with a plan: She and Ray will steal Greg's money, burn down her house, convince Greg the money was lost in the fire and then run away together. Carla's scheme, however, doesn't go off as planned.

A building site with a secret sets the scene for the Edgerton brothers to box you in with some very shady characters and leave you to find your own way out in this skilful and effective thriller. Top notch Aussie stuff.

This was quite good in spite of all the bogans that appear in it. The script was clever and made me laugh, and still created tensioin.

I'm adding the Edgerton brothers to my list of filmmakers to watch. I thoroughly enjoyed this film all the way through. It had more twists and shocking moments than just about any movie in recent memory. The emotionally driven main characters demonstrate clearly the effects emotions such as guilt have on your reasoning and decision making skills as their seemingly simple plan to run away together spirals out of control. The tie-in cameo from the short film, Spider, was also a great touch that had me laughing. Can't wait to see what these guys put out next.

Even from it's opening scene, it's not difficult to surmise things will be going quite badly for the adulterous couple we're introduced to, but my, what an understatement this turns out to be. Even after only five minutes in, the film begins to unfold in a surreal, mesmerizing fashion, moving swiftly from one frustratingly intriguing circumstance to the next , absorbing you in its gripping web of chaos and disaster. On par with A Simple Plan and Blood Simple, this powerhouse film about a man and a woman who plan to run off with her husband's gangster money see their lives go from bad to appallingly worse. The film is nothing short of a masterpiece and it's one of the best movies I've seen in years.
