Film juste, bon ton, magnifique qualitÃ© d'image et de musique. J'aurais coupÃ© les trentes derniÃ¨eres minutes par contre.

Quelques longueurs, mais belle photographie. Sujet admirablement traitÃ© comparÃ© aux autres films aux vocations semblables...

I was put off by one of the very first things you see in this film, which is a statement in which the filmmakers hope to have their cake and eat it too. They claim it's "based on a true story" but they then disrespect the families by saying all characters have been fictionalized. We all know that far fewer people would have chosen to see this movie if it was titled "Bloody College" or something. While I wasn't expecting a documentary, I was expecting something true to the facts. Now I'm left with the problem of figuring out whether anything in the film was true at all. Did we learn anything about the shooter? Did we learn anything about the victims? Did we learn anything about the responders? The answer is 'No' Having said that, it did contain some of the most intense shooting scenes I've seen in a film, but I was not impressed by the self-indulgent upside-down camera angles.

Le film est bien fait, mais il y a quand mÃªme des choses qui m'ont agacÃ (C)e, et il y a bien des longueurs! Je comprends que le rÃ (C)alisateur ne voulait pas en faire un vrai thriller, mais en quelque part, Ã§a manque de rythme. J'aime pas les flashbacks lÃ -dedans...Ã§a casse quelque chose dans la progression. On le sait que c'est une histoire vraie, mais il aurait pu en faire un vrai film aussi!

You can't make sense of something that has none, so the director does not try. Instead, he masterfully directs two stories about students in the school where the massacre took place. Simple, elegant and touching. I saw this movie after being impressed by Villeneuve's Oscar-nominated Incendies, and it didn't let me down.
