Pieces of April (2003)

Quirky and rebellious April Burns lives with her boyfriend in a low-rent New York City apartment miles away from her emotionally distant family. But when she discovers that her mother has a fatal form of breast cancer, she invites the clan to her place for Thanksgiving. While her father struggles to drive her family into the city, April -- an inexperienced cook -- runs into kitchen trouble and must ask a neighbor for help.

Great example Thanksgiving movie to watch with your entire family. Doesn't all have to be all fancy like which makes it very lovable including problems. also love the different travels before the all family meeting together not knowing if this will be great or not but yes in the end PERFECT MEMORY :)

I watched this movie first in New York, staying with my daughter's boyfriend & getting a real experience of the city! How perfect. The New York depiction of apartments is so right on - hysterical neighbors, diverse. Love the Thanks-giving theme. I think its an intensely good movie, with great rep of family & forgiveness. A favorite.

Seriously...this is probably one of my most favorite films of all time. The cast, the soundtrack, the cinematography, the script....so beautiful. And funny. And touching. SEE IT!
