The melodrama flirts with unintentional laughs at times, but Dupont's camera work displays remarkable prescience.

[Wong] is not top billed, but her entrance in Piccadilly -- and her general presence -- make her the star.

Way ahead of its time certainly, and an amazing piece of Jazz Age cinema. Anna May Wong is beautiful, the sets are gorgeous and this film is simply fantastic... see it on the BFI DVD if you can.
