Pauly Shore Is Dead (2003)

Hollywood comedian/actor Pauly Shore loses everything: his house, nobody in Hollywood wants to represent him, he moves back home with his mom and is now parking cars at the Comedy Store. Then one night when he's up in his mom's loft, a dead famous comedian appears who tells Pauly to kill himself cause he'll go down as a comedic genius who died before his time. Pauly then fakes his own death, and the media goes crazy.

Not bad. Gotta be the best Pauly Shore film out there, but that's not really a great comment. Entertaining, but watch it once and you've seen it enough.

I have seen a lot of movies. Many of them good, and many of them bad. Many I could watch over and over again, and others I never wanted to watch again. The first time I watched "Pauly Shore is Dead", I immediately re-started the film. I love this movie! It takes a lot of courage to make fun of yourself to the extent that Pauly Shore does here. The jokes are hilarious, the cameo's are even better! I know this film isn't for everyone (mostly elitist, tasteless types) but anyone who's down to earth and can appreciate a low-budget movie with an absurd comedic premise, you'll take a liking to this movie. But make sure to brush up on your Pauly Shore movies before you do so, or else you may have a bit of trouble following some of jokes.

Was a very good movie, cried three times because it was a very deep story line. Pauly Shore is a great director.

Pauly shore is dead. If only the title were true, we would all be a lot happier. The sad thing about this film is that again, it had potential to be such a great film. The idea of a documentary about how differently people would view you after you were dead is awsome, and a very original idea. But, pauly Shore found an easy way to fuck this film up. He starred as himself in a movie, not a mockumentary. This film sucked, it had nothing to it. We were pretty much watching the autobiography of a person that is not very interesting. A failed comedian that had everything fed to him since a child. This man was not amazing, nor funny. Most of his movies totally sucked, and were dumb. I guesse we know, that Pauly Shore really has no talent, and will probaly be remembered when he actually does die as nothing more than a comedian that made pointless movies. The greatest trick he pulled was not faking his own death, but making us believe he could contrive an original picture that had substance and comedy.
