Danny Muldoon, a Chicago policeman, still lives with his overbearing mother Rose. He meets and falls in love with Theresa Luna, whose father owns the local funeral parlour. John Candy is a likable guy who has problems with girls thanks in large part to his domineering mother. a great film that was underappreciated in its day.

Doesn't quite match the low-key brilliance of marty, but still quite enjoyeable with excellent performances from candy and sheedy.

With Hughes and Columbus' names attached, you'll know what to expect. It's often contrived and inanely simple but It's also genuinely funny and irresistibly sweet mostly thanks to Candy and O'Hara.
