Those that can embrace its patient, visually-enthralling style and sparse, yet affecting dialogue will be rewarded with a film of grand ambition, delving deep into the human condition and questioning our very moral fabric.

Though its glacial pacing will represent a significant hurdle for many viewers, the film grows steadily more involving as dawn breaks and the men make their way back home, and its unflinching observations of the legal and medical establishment at work frequently rivet. Visually, it's as gorgeous a film as Ceylan has made.

exactly the same as I expected. a masterpiece . Bilge Ceylan again mesmerize the viewers by his specific way of storytelling. the rhythm was slow, like the previous films directed by him but keep you with the stream even the films is a bit longer than usual. the film was full of beautiful landscapes, i love the way Ceylan pictures the surroundings. it is unique and breathtaking.

The dialogue and character moments, though, are fantastic. This movie really had me thinking that in the same way translators of books are recognized, they really need to make a bigger deal of who translates foreign films, cause the banter in this movie is wonderful, and though I don't know anything about Turkish (I assume they were speaking Turkish), I'd imagine it would be difficult to make it sound so natural in English. Also the scene where the apple rolls down the hill, over an obstacle, rolls further, into a stream, and down the stream only to end up in a small pile of apples is such a great joke.
