Once Upon a Time in Venice (2017)

Steve Ford is a private detective in Venice Beach, Calif., who's good with the ladies, bad with the punches and wild about his dog Buddy. When local thugs steal Buddy, Ford turns to Spyder, their devious leader, and forges an unlikely alliance. With help from his best friend, Steve pulls out the big guns to retrieve Spyder's stolen cash and cocaine and save Buddy.

Comedy is subjective, so while I'm about to trash this lazy and obnoxiously unfunny movie you may actually enjoy it. Especially if you have an terrible sense of humor.

Easy watching and I felt it was funnier than i was expecting. I was surprised to see the low reviews. I really enjoyed it!

This light action-comedy piece of fluff runs on for a mere 94 minutes and does a far better job of providing some entertainment than most of the bloated gas-bags being shoveled out of Hollywood with run-times exceeding two hours. The New York Times review complains about long-in-the-tooth Willis beating up much younger men, but neglects to mention Willis getting beat up and knocked out three or four times, and once knocking himself out by trying a diving escape through a window that is anything but open. This is not a great action flick, nor a hilarious knee-slapper, but it does get the job done and is worth a watch. And I refer the NY Times to security video on YouTube of a 73 year old former US Marine knocking out an armed robber in a 7-11 with a single punch to the jaw.

After many failed attempts, I hoped this film would be Bruce Willis's comeback but boy was I wrong. If anything it ended his career. Once Upon A Time In Venice is blatantly unfunny and lacks every possible ingredient to a decent action comedy. I don't think I ever had to endure a more cringeworthy script with such bad acting. This movie is definitely not worth watching.
