Unconventional and does everything wrong, but is still perfect.

Definitely Robert Altman at his best. This searing parody of country music culture serves as an excellent forum for discussing the social events that preoccupied American culture in the 1970's. The ensemble shines here, and Lily Tomlin makes me happy. Overall, and endearing and ingenious piece of film making.

Nashville effectively founded the school of American improv-ensemble cinema.

Robert Altman's scathing expose of American politics is still as resonant today as it was in 1975. It has a brilliant cast and is masterfully directed.

One of the few movies that intertwines the lives of many characters while doing each of them justice. The ending sing-along is remarkably prescient.
