Nadja (1995)

In a contemporary New York City, members of a dysfunctional family of vampires are trying to come to terms with each other, in the wake of their father's death. One of those movies that seems confusing thanks to its surreal presentation but, on close examination is actually very straightforward and simple. Nice cast, some very funny moments, fantastic soundtrack, well worth watching. Must see for vampire fans.

In the title role of Michael Almereyda's "Nadja," an elegant, witty but also sometimes tedious spin on the legend of Dracula, Elina Lowensohn is a black-caped beauty with a bold Frida Kahlo face.

A very strange movie. I kept waiting for my interest to grow but it never did even towards the end of the movie. It was all vampire poetry and while that's okay, I don't like it in my movies. I'll quickly forget about this movie in due time.

Very involved. I'd say it's deep... Peter Fonda looks too much like someone I know. Tackles the female sex thing similar to "The Hunger".
