In a contemporary New York City, members of a dysfunctional family of vampires are trying to come to terms with each other, in the wake of their father's death. If Nadja is to be considered an interesting failure, there's something to be said for the value and substance of broken treasures.

This offbeat horror item works much better as a dreamy mood piece with striking poetic images and as a semicomic appreciation of a few quintessential low-budget actors than as straight-ahead storytelling.

A very creative low-budget vampire tale with excellent (if somewhat hammed up) performances by the entire cast. An always welcome presence of David Lynch just adds to the fun. Also has a great shoegazer/trip-hop soundtrack, for those that like that kind of thing. Highly recommended for the slightly more adventurous viewer (some of this film is shot in Pixelvision for those who remember those cameras).

One of the best vampire movies I've ever seen. It is charged with the erotic, the seductive, and the dynamic tensions between siblings. Definite recommend.
