Mr. Jones is the stuff of both conspiracy theories and collegiate discourse, and Mueller's elliptical exploration and creation of that mythology sets the bar a bit too high for his much-less-interesting protagonists to fully clear.

Richard and Lena both are cool looking. Richard acted well. I like it.

Sad, funny, interesting, beautiful and so much more, you name it!

Janet Maslin 29 Oct 2005

But the screenplay, by Eric Roth and Michael Cristofer, can sound pat enough to diminish the characters.

Todd McCarthy 28 Oct 2012

A high-energy performance by Richard Gere and an intensely brooding one from Lena Olin engage attentive viewer interest, but the stars are forced to overcompensate for a rather slow pace and lack of plot.
