Set on an island off the coast of New England in the summer of 1965, Moonrise Kingdom tells the story of two twelve-year-olds who fall in love, make a secret pact, and run away together into the wilderness. I was on a mission for a movie that was unique, and whilst searching on Netflix, I came across Moonrise Kingdom. The story was a tale of young love in the 1960's, as pre-teens Sam and Suzy defy the odds and their guardians to be together, trying their hand, and khaki scout skills, at surviving in the wilderness together. The movie has a talented and diverse cast, including Bruce Willis, Tilda Swinton, and Billy Murrey. Packed with witty humor and simple genius, it'll effortlessly transport you into their charming and quirky world. This movie is one for anyone and everyone.

Beautiful music surrounds this hilarious movie about preteens talking and acting like dramatic irrational preteens, and the people they're surrounded with (as they seem to see them)

Sweet, superb and cinematically stunning, Wes Anderson is king of the modern shady (yet colourfully shady) comedy. Thanks to underplayed child performances and Anderson's trademark attention to detail, Moonrise Kingdom manages to conjure up a real air of childlike wonder, dream and sincerity, complimented beautifully by the auteur's fleeting waves of wry wit. Innocence, adventure and romance are all handled so briskly and brusquely to work as both entertainment and statement film, whilst darting pans and swooping stills set across a vibrant pastel palette ensure the whole thing looks gorgeous throughout. One can't help but imagine that Anderson himself lived a similar, goggle-eyed childhood. Beautifully funny stuff.

One of my all-time favorite flicks. Charming, clever, and beautifully shot.

i really liked this film, Wes Anderson's cinematography was excellent, which reminds me a lot of Stanley Kubrick's work, which i love
