An unforgettable one of a kind gem from awards winning visionary director of Kamikaze Girls and Confessions. Don't miss this one!

Nakashima's talented screenplay again. The story is so tragic but brilliant. Everything is "kira kira" but they will bring you to tears. Great music and wonderful heroin Miki Nakatani.

Simultaneously elating and depressing, Memroies of Matsuko is one of the most profound cinematic experiences of the decade. Matsuko's tragic story is told through stylistic excess that both provides a point and counterpoint to the emotional ups and downs of her life. Nakashima's direction is sure and impressive, while Nakatani's performance is perfect. Forrest Gump meets Citizen Kane meets Moulin Rouge.

Beyond weird tragicomedy musical from the director of Kamikaze Girls. If you've seen that, you know what you're getting yourself into.
