surprisingly very good, with a very bittersweet ending. Christian McKay is terrifyingly good.

Richard Linklater weaves a play-within-a-movie narrative with his signature dialogue-driven flow to create this period piece that captures not just the ambience of its 30s setting, but also the smart yet uncynical flavor of classic films of the day. Zac Efron is perfectly cast as the bold kid who talks his way into the Mercury Theatre, while Christian McKay hits a resounding note as Orson Welles, blending ego and flair with a softening glimpse into what lies beneath.

An all-around warm and entertaining film ... has a romanticism that we haven't seen very much from Linklater in recent years.

A really enjoyable, well made film, with some outstanding acting from the leading members of the cast. I knew little about Orson Welles before, but this has certainly piqued my interest!

Me and Orson Welles is a little velvet sack of diamonds. It's a sparkling love letter to a gigantic talent, a romance, a comedy, a drama.
