A nation wracked with civil war and social unrest anticipates a giant charity concert, organized by deceptive promoter Uncle Sweetheart, who plans on raking in huge sums for himself from the event. Headlining is legendary musician Jack Fate, whose prison time is cut short with Sweetheart's help. Meanwhile, journalist Tom Friend investigates the corrupt concert and sets out to unmask the truth to the public.

Very strange movie. It seems to be a not-to-distant-future type story, but it's never made clear. The country which is never named seems to be the USA as a Banana Republic. The music is amazing, the acting is brilliant (if you ignore Dylan, and it's incredibly original. The story however is pretty meaningless. It has a kind of Ginsberg/Burroughs style dialouge that makes it seem more like a bad play then a movie. If you want to see something very different from the mainstream by all means check it out.

A combination of Bob Dylan and Larry Charles is a match made in heaven. Cameos are awesome, took me six months to figure out Mickey Rourke. Love this film, love it. No I don't know what it's about either really...People and animals I guess!
