Masked and Anonymous (2003)

A nation wracked with civil war and social unrest anticipates a giant charity concert, organized by deceptive promoter Uncle Sweetheart, who plans on raking in huge sums for himself from the event. Headlining is legendary musician Jack Fate, whose prison time is cut short with Sweetheart's help. Meanwhile, journalist Tom Friend investigates the corrupt concert and sets out to unmask the truth to the public.

With Sixties vigor and carefree looseness, the legendary musician and poet has given us a late-career "Purple Rain" that turns out to be a great bad movie.

Incredibly underappreciated. Yeah it's cryptic, cynical, and downright strange. But it's a one of a kind allegory for...something. Containing many memorable, surreal, and funny moments. Bob Dylan co-writes, stars, and performs, so, of course, great music as well.

If you like Bob Dylan HE IS AMAZING here so is the rest of the all star cast! Again one of my FAVORITE ALL TIMES MOVIES I dont know how many times I watched this it got BETTER each time!!

Trying to make a film that reads like a Dylan song is a losing proposition, however well-meaning the intent of Larry Charles and his cavalcade of stars. Some nice lines, however. Here's one: "Life is like being in a taxi. Even if you're not going anywhere, the meter is still running."
