A nation wracked with civil war and social unrest anticipates a giant charity concert, organized by deceptive promoter Uncle Sweetheart, who plans on raking in huge sums for himself from the event. Headlining is legendary musician Jack Fate, whose prison time is cut short with Sweetheart's help. Meanwhile, journalist Tom Friend investigates the corrupt concert and sets out to unmask the truth to the public.

It- it's like watching a movie version of the spirit of Desolation Row. Sure, if yo are looking for an enjoyable, bland, sense-making, cookie-cutter, hollywoody, lunch-box-selling, money-making, summer-box-office-record-setting movie, you are going to be disappointed. But, I love this movie, and nothing in the world can ruin that for me. Not even all the Five-Iron-Frenzie-yuppie-iPod xombies in the world.

Okay, must of you guys probably don't think Bob Dylan can act given his habit of rambling through songs nowadays, but believe me, this movie is amazing. It has a whimsical quality about it that makes Dylan fans realize why they started listening to him in the first place. The other members of the cast give excellent performances as well and do a great job of telling the story. Many people gave the complaint that much of the time, you don't know where the setting is or when it is, but that's the beauty of it!

I did not find it unintelligible at all. Itï¿ 1/2 1/2(TM)s a surreal movie, not meant to be taken as a realistic movie. Itï¿ 1/2 1/2(TM)s greatness as a film equals the greatness of Bob Dylanï¿ 1/2 1/2(TM)s best songs.
