A cozy, Allen-esque New York tale. Wherein the warm light from all its highly-capable components, is carefully gathered up and shone back on the characters. Creating a sort of chain reaction where, despite all the "dancing in the dark" that these people (like all people) do - none seem left deprived of said glow. Least of all Gerwig. Who's work, as per usual, is ridiculously organic and endearing.

At its core, Maggie's Plan is an unconventional romantic comedy that also serves as a dose of therapy for those who may be feeling at a crossroads in their own personal lives.

Miller's characters are pseudo-intellectual at best - they are academic by job description alone.

I love the name of this movie, because ironically I cannot see any Maggie's plan in Maggie's Plan. However, the academia world is so uncommon to me, maybe not in business school at least.
