It doesn't get any better than this when it comes to samurai drama. Or any sort of drama for that matter. People yap on and on about Kurosawa. I'll take Kobayashi over him any day... A deeply moving film about duty, love, family and the abuse and corruption of power.

Ah, I just watched Samurai Rebellion the other night and I think it might be one of the best films I have seen. I watch a lot of older Asian films and this one truly is a marvel. I wasn't sure what the story was about from the title but it had a story that was much deeper than I expected. The story, if you have a heart, will appeal to most in a timeless manner. Although, the story is set in a time that doesn't exist anymore the stories themes stand the test of time. Even if you think this is not your type of movie you should give it a try. There is sword fighting, villains, backstabbing, and maybe a love story...Watch it to find out and I think you will be pleased.
