From feted Iranian master Abbas Kiarostami comes a tender portrait about the unlikely sparks that fly between a student-prostitute and her client, an educated old professor. Through Kiarostami's sensitive gaze, nothing is what it seems. An encounter that could have been awkwardly sleazy turns into a surprisingly affecting (and amusing) look at the importance of make-believe, i.e. the lies we tell and the masks we put on, to protect our loved ones and to attain (self-delusional) contentment.

This movie is so slow that I could have sleep once in while without losing a bit!! And not only that, but really what was its meaning? what message did Kiarostami intend to give? A mystery!!

Every shot - everything you see, and everything you don't - imparts a disturbing and thrilling sense of discovery.

Like Someone in Love has rather simple, sentimental, melodramatic underpinnings, but the vantage changes everything. It opens up this world — and the next. It’s an enthralling journey.
