Let Her Out (2016)

Twenty-three years after her hooker mother tried to kill her in the womb Helen remains damaged psychological goods. A mindset that gets worse when she suffers a traumatic head injury in an accident. Awakening in hospital, it's discovered Helen has a tumour growth in her brain causing her to experience dark visions, disembodied voices and the omnipresence of a strange young woman. Soon, lost in a walking nightmare, in which nothing is what it seems, and her vicious actions barely remembered, it becomes crystal clear that whatever is inside her cracked psyche will stop at nothing to get out.

Let Her Out was a thrilling film, that mixed psychological horror well with violence and true emotional fear from lead, Alanna LeVierge. A story about Helen (played by LeVierge) who is battling her identity, future and the twin she never had. Even if the horror isn't for you, the cinematography is an A+! Cody Calahan did a great job with this film, can't see what he has in stock for us horror-lovers in the future.

Opens with sex scenes as a prostitute plies her trade, which turn dark when a rapist turns up; followed by a rather dark and somber mood which culminates in the woman killing herself, luckily the child she is carrying is saved. Fast forward 23 years to see the baby girl has grown in an attractive young woman named Helen. After Helen is hit by a car, she begins experiencing mental problems such as black outs and memory loss. It is evident that she is experiencing some kind of neurological trauma, but the truth is much stranger, and scarier than she ever imagined.

If this had just been a short consisting of the last 15 minutes of the film, I would have loved it. Unfortunately this was a feature length film riddled with plot holes, bumps and bends in the story that were nonsensical, and no real substance.

Let Her Out is let down slightly by a run of the mill script, some uninspired technical decisions and a host of bland secondary characters, but it is worth a look for its paranoid tone and Alanna LeVierge's show-stopping, go-for-broke lead performance.

not a bad idea but ideas arent enough to produce full movies this one does show promise every once and awhile but ultmately is a mess
