a pretty cool pyro-slasher style movie from 79. this film takes its cue from "psycho" and is influential to the 1980 "Maniac" definitely under rated. and most def worth watching. Really creepy at some points,highly entertaining,and slightly disturbing in all its fantastical cheese!

A shameless Psycho rip off, and not even a very good one at that. The burned corpses were oddly papier mache-like and just bleh.

The violence it depicts is not nearly as off-putting as the perfunctory misogyny the film evinces, and even that isn't half so obscene as the ridiculously shabby quality of the whole thing.

Grim viewing - The murder sequences where the victims are burnt alive are quite harrowing, though the bulk of the film is built up of the main character's psychological deterioration, which is unfrotunately less effecting and in places the bizarre tonal shifts (in particular a sequence where he has to negotiate a suit from a camp cashier) tend to distract... As such its a rather dull experience with flashes of ingenuity
