A stunning film. Those over-used to modern film editing techniques may well be bored to tears. However, For those with a tolerance for slowness the film is magnificent and the last 10 minutes are perehaps 10 of the best ever put on screen. After viewing it i admit i went 'Wha...?!' but on reflection it made perfect sense - telling us what happened by NOT showing us what happened. Genius. I have no doubt i will watch this many times over.

While it is essentially plotless, this film nevertheless a true gem of filmmaking from the great Antonioni. Unexpectedly I found out that I like his black and white work better than what he did in color.

Wow! WOW!! WOWW!!! The way Delon and Vitti hold hands is as sensual as anything I've ever seen! This film is remarkable on so many levels - its drastic shifting from plot based story to documentary is distinguished from the start with the disorienting opening. The film begins at the end of a relationship. The ending itself is beyond me, conveying the eeriest montage of images I've seen in a long time, matched by the equally sinister music.

An absolute Masterpiece about love and the pains of ennui.

The final scenes are powerful and breathtaking. Antonioni undertands tragedy and dissatisfaction so well. Ah, and there's Vitti and Delon-- so gorgeous and talented.
