After years of this movie getting pushed back, I finally got to watch latest entry in the TCM series "Leatherface". And I have to say it's... ok. I will say that the first five minutes are great! The performances are good, the violence is deliciously violent, and they did a decent job making it feel like the 60's. Though the biggest problem I have with this movie is how they handled Leatherface's origin. You don't get to see his "origin" until like the last 20 minutes and when it happens, it doesn't really make any sense. It's definitely not the worst film in the series but I was disappointed.

I really enjoyed this. Starts of like a natural born killers chase movie and ends like a chainsaw movie. Excellent gore and performances. Highly recommended for horror fans.

Although French directing duo Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury add some extra griminess and the central mystery is clever enough, Leatherface never truly escapes just how pointless and misaligned its whole set-up is.

The blood and guts flow freely in Leatherface but it's never even remotely horrific, let alone so absurdly shocking that's it provides sick thrills.
