The acting wasn't bad and the special effects were actually well made.Even though the movie was pretty boring in the middle and the werewolves looked pretty silly, it's not a bad werewolf movie.

"Late Phases" is a solid indie horror film about a blind cantankerous Old Vietnam Vet who moves into a community for retirees and discovers on his first night that the place may have a werwolf problem, then readies up to take on the beasts when the full moon returns. It is a solid story, original and fun...and the werewolf transformation is gruesome and great. The werewolves in action kind of look like Halloween costumes, but that is forgivable because this is a low budget film with a fresh take on werewolves.

The beginning is promising : the production is perfectly running, with an excellent first actor and a beautiful direction. But everything fall after the first werewolf's apparition. Actually, "Late Phases" is nothing more than a idiotic B series.

An old blind war veteran fighting werewolves. That's it. No questions asked, no pointless bullshit, just a touching story about an old man with one last purpose before he dies. Well acted, well shot and overall no bullshit, this is the kind of indie gore-horror that we should see more of .

I really like a lot of the character actors they cast in this, especially the lead nick damici who co wrote all of jim mickles films which i love, plus i love the horror genre, i love the seriousness of the tone, the lead accepts that its a werewolf and theres no wasted scenes of people not believing it, he just gets down to business dealing with issue, all the actors do good jobs, not overplaying it, staying reserved, i will say at the end it faltered a bit in the leadup, but overall i still enjoyed how it ended and how it played out, i def recommend for horror fans
