Intriguing, if slightly stodgy, early werewolf shocker

Decent, but nothing special. There is a reason than The Wolf Man is known as THE wolf classic. That said this film is pretty alright. The story is a bit to slow, and it can be boring at times, but I think it is pretty well done. The wolf effects are nothing mind blowing, but they are what they are for the time.

Werewolf of london is the first werewolf movie ever made however due to the 1941 lon chaney jr classic this brilliant film is over shadowed by that film. the main reason is due to Chaneys mereoble portayal of an average man with the curse of the wolf and Jack pearice was allowed to use his full master make up skills in that film , in the were wolf of london most of henry hulls face was showen unlike chaney jr how was in full make up. Plot wise its quite imagivte how an english botanist hunts for a rare flower in the moutains of Tibet, then is biten by a werewolf and at the first slight of the full moon he becomes a werewolf. However hulls character is told by a mysteroius botainst that the flower would save two souls from the curse. 8/10 the reason i havent rated it higher was due to the bizzare dialouge but that been said its a masterpieace of the werewolf genere.

Universal's first pass at "werewolfery" is not without its problems but it's difficult to really criticize it if you have an appetite for such films. And I liked Henry Hull...

It had so much potential, I mean the power of the Tibetan flower could have been plausible BUT it didn't give it all it had. Terrible. I guess it just had too much misdirection. Some parts were laugh worthy like the fight with the old ladies and a werewolf wearing a cape and hat out as a 'disguise' is absolutely hilarious. Probably the worst werewolf film I've ever seen in my life. Good for laughs, but you aren't going to see anything graphic or scary.
