Ladies in Lavender (2004)

Andrea, a gifted young Polish violinist from Krakow, is bound for America when he is swept overboard by a storm. When the Widdington sisters discover the handsome stranger on the beach below their house, they nurse him back to health. Beautiful movie. Judi Dench is breathtaking, her anguish at realising her love for the young musician is unrequited is palpable. Such a lovely film.

Felt the need to be with her if I had his young role in real life. I would have stepped to the plate , for sure.

Such a beautiful film, I had tears in my eyes at the end. Judi Dench & Maggie Smith are fabulous. Poor Janet, as Andrea came into her life too late.

Wonderful film, engaging from the first few minutes to the end. The Dames needed little direction I'm sure but Charles Dance directed with a sure but light touch .. have just seen it for the third time and loved it even more.
