Slow-moving; maybe. Excellent acting; definitely. A happy ending; unlikely. Totally enjoyable.

Woody allen continue son exploration entamÃ©e par CRIMES et DELITS en 1989; et MATCH POINT, sur la culpabilitÃ©, l'egoisme en ajoutant un caractere gÃ©nerationnel Ã son discours; ici la conscience est incarnÃ©e par Colin farrell, tandis que la cupiditÃ© prends forme dans les actes d'ewan mac gregor. Rien de drole dans ce film qui est plus une etude de moeurs qu'un thriller et qui tire a boulet rouge sur une generation a qui tout est due et qui ne sait pas trouver le bonheur dans ce qu'elle a; Le processus d'identification rend le spectateur coupable de ses aspirations et, heurtÃ©, il peut rejeter ce qui pourtant est une evidence: les reves des jeunes gens sont aliÃ©nÃ©s par une norme assÃ©nnÃ©e par lesmasse media, et leur individualitÃ© reste une illusion.

Woody Allen keeps coming up with one after another - and this film is no exception, written in his distinct style that pulls you in until the last word is spoken... I couldn't have asked for two better male leads that really complimented eachother as the story developed - and the conclusion did indeed have Allen's signature all over it. Entertaining, well cast and well done.

This must be the best Woody Allen film i've seen so far. I fell for Colin's caracther, so sweet yet twisted and drowned in every single addiction: meds, alcohol and bets. On the other hand, Ian (Ewan McGregor) is strong, selfish and ambixious.
