A bit kitschy and stagy at times but undeniably moving and thought provoking. One of the few films that honestly examine what love really is.

OK... so, there are no spiders in this movie, but that works for me, cause I used to be scared of them. Aside from that, this is a great film.

Hector Banbenco, as usual out does himmself... great film based on a Manuel Puig novel by the same title (also a must read as this is a must see)... watch PIXOTE

Luis Molina and Valentin Arregui are cell mates in a South American prison. Luis, a homosexual, is found guilty of immoral behaviour and Valentin is a political prisoner. To escape reality Luis invents romantic movies, while Valentin tries to keep his mind on the situation he's in. During the time they spend together, the two men come to understand and respect one another.
