Such an amazing film, heartfelt and tragic. Absolutely stellar performances by William Hurt, Raul Julia, and Sonia Braga.

It took too long to really get into things, in my opinion, and I never really understood why Hurt's relationship with his mother.

William Hurt gives an excellent performance and Raul Julia does the same. I really loved the parallels between Molina's story of the movie he was telling to Valentin and the complex nature of the plot reminds me so much of The Crying Game in some ways.
