Wonderfully bizarre and over-the-top noir thriller. Mike Hammer is perhaps noir's most perverse hero who pimps out his secretary and take pleasure in inflicting pain. One of the best intros in film history, one of the most enduring tropes in the mysterious suitcase and an ending to end them all. Neat.

Dirty, brutal, violent, and stylish. Everything a noir should be.

Robert Aldrich's subversive take on Mickey Spillane's Mike Hammer novel. A really big influence on the French New Wave cinema of the 1960s. This is one of the really great lost classics of Film Noir.

I can't get enough noir! This is the meanest one I've ever seen. The hero is a violent, leering perv. The mysterious, glowing suitcase that screams when you open it up?Pulp Fiction totally ripped it off (except this suitcase can kill people). Beginning credits are unforgettable. Insane and over the top; the ending is particularly crazy.

Most of you haven't seen this film, but its one of the first film noir's that had a highly different tone to it. I don't want to give it away but its well crafted and masterfully executed in the work of "What the hell is going on?" cinema.
