A damn fine film. Even though some of the events could be seen as typical prison-film clichés, they are handled in such a way that they feel organic and natural. Plus, the cast is pretty good supported by Stellan Skarsgard as the director of the facility.

Watchable if not entirely engrossing, this classically lensed tale about the misuse of power offers sweeping panoramas, stunning snowy landscapes, stock character types and a creakily generic narrative.

nice prison flick which didnt rely on shocking scenes to create reaction. Relied on a well picked cast and a superb backdrop inspired by true events.

Very good drama about the bleak conditions in a concentration camp like boys home on a remote island.

kind of a mix of if..., lord or the flies, and the white ribbon
