Just Before I Go (2015)

Ted Morgan has been treading water for most of his life. After his wife leaves him, Ted realizes he has nothing left to live for. Summoning the courage for one last act, Ted decides to go home and face the people he feels are responsible for creating the shell of a person he has become. But life is tricky. The more determined Ted is to confront his demons, to get closure, and to withdraw from his family, the more Ted is yanked into the chaos of their lives. So, when Ted Morgan decides to kill himself, he finds a reason to live.

What do the critics know?!. Nothing.. its a great film with some hilarious lines... A dark, twisted but very funny film about life, love and a dysfunctional family. Great casting. I loved it.

As a directorial debut by Courtney Cox, "Just Before I Go" is actually not as bad as some people say. I've seen movies by directors, who have been at it for years, who didn't do as well as this. So no, it really isn't as terrible as some have said. That being said, the most disappointing aspect of the film is actually Sean Williams Scott. I've enjoyed his earlier roles, and he always made me laugh, but his one-note acting in this film leaves much to be desired. I understand that he was taking his part seriously, however when a movie is loaded with a sleepwalking masturbator, penises is a bowl, and little boys saying the word, "c*nt," (among other things), it makes the tone of the movie a bit lopsided. There were some genuine laugh out loud moments, and some poignant scenes, which made this movie fairly enjoyable. And as long as you're not looking for an Oscar winning movie, but rather something to watch when you've run out of other options, you won't be disappointed if you give this a chance. A solid 3-star movie!

Predicable romantic comedy that works sometimes and other times just makes you wonder what they were thinking. If I am going to kill myself I am not going to go back and get revenge on all the people that did me wrong in my last days.
