Though I prefer many stage adaptations to either JCS movie, this millennium version is worlds better than the 1973 version. It's modernized, yes, but it's also deeper, darker, and depicts the relationship between Jesus and Judas far more believably. Glenn Carter does a great job as Jesus (even if at times his falsetto grates). Jerome Pradon takes a lot of getting used to, but his portrayal of Judas as a spoiled child is new and, truth be told, what Tim Rice envisioned while writing the lyrics. Mary is fabulous, and Pilate is phenomenal. Though "King Herod's Song" is sickeningly awful, the rest of the film compensates.

There were a few parts that this production was able to get across more clearly to the audience, but all in all I had a very hard time watching it. The origial version is still my favorite. Jerome Pradon did a really good job as Judas. The direction though didn't appeal to me.

wow, the singing range of Judas and Jesus is just out of this world. that is the only reason why i rate it. too bad this entire musical is mocking the greatest man to ever walk this earth.

Visually, I find it superior to the film adaptation. Gale Edwards directs a brilliant adaptation of the timeless musical, complete with machine guns and Roman storm troopers! The main faults lie with the leading men (Carter and Pradon), who are incredibly weak compared to Ted Neeley and Carl Anderson of the original film. Other than that, the rest of the cast (particularly the mischievous Herod, played by Rik Mayall) sounds great.

Parece sacrÃlega pero no: en el fondo, es la misma historia que todos conocemos. El trasfondo contemporÃ¡neo y el Ã©nfasis en Judas dÃ¡ndole cÃ¡tedra a JesÃºs es lo que la hace polÃ©mica. Buenos cantantes.
